| Balanced Man Scholarship |
|
Sigma Phi Epsilon is an American college fraternity founded in 1901 on the principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. Our members strive to achieve the Greek principle of the balanced man. The balanced man strives always to attain a sound mind and sound body. He is a leader and a gentleman, an athlete and a scholar. He excels in the classroom, and seeks always to diversify his experiences and understanding of the world around him. He works to keep his body physically fit and makes decisions that will keep his body healthy and strong. We believe that a balance of sound mind and sound body is the key to living a prosperous life. The Michigan Theta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at Lawrence Technological University in 1971. In 1993, the Balanced Man Scholarship was instituted as a way of rewarding incoming freshman that have exhibited the qualities of the balanced man throughout their high school career. The scholarship is supported by the university, but is solely owned and operated by the chapter. Since its creation, the Michigan Theta chapter has given out well over $10,000 to deserving freshman through the Balanced Man Scholarship. Our Scholarship is open to all incoming Freshman who are going to attend Lawrence Technological University. Joining Sigma Phi Epsilon is not nessasary. |
